Birthers go after 4 Republican 2016 hopefuls…..

The Republican party contunues to eat inself alive…..

The birther movement has come home to roost as the Republican presidential primary heats up.

In a column published last week on the conspiracy theory website WND, author Jack Cashill noted that questions had been raised about whether four of the 17 candidates in the GOP field were really “natural born citizens” and therefore eligible to run for President.

Ted Cruz has already dealt with those questions publicly — the Canadian-born senator from Texas renounced his citizenship with that country last summer in anticipation of a 2016 bid — but Cashill also listed Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) and former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) among those who were suspect….

Obama to appear on Kansas Ballot after all….

I just saw this……

They where actually going to deny the Democratic Presidential Candidate a ballot line because of  some birthed Bull Shit???

from CNN…..

Efforts to keep President Barack Obama’s name off of the Kansas presidential ballot were halted Monday when a state board ended its probe over questions about the president’s place of birth, the Kansas Secretary of State’s office confirmed.

The all-Republican board made its decision after the person leading the objection, Manhattan, Kansas resident Joe Montgomery, dropped his challenge on Friday saying he had received threatening phone calls.

Last year, Obama released his long-form birth certificate from Hawaii to quell speculation that he was not a U.S. citizen and may be constitutionally ineligible to serve as president. He has previously released a certification of live birth during the 2008 campaign. Both documents show that he was born in a Hawaii hospital on August 4, 1961. Contemporaneously published newspaper announcements also noted the birth in the Aloha State.

Monday’s meeting by the State Objections Board, however, did not go down without some drama. Orly Taitz, an outspoken figure in the so-called birther movement, appeared at the gathering and demanded to speak, according to local television station KTKA, a CNN affiliate. She chided board members for overlooking other questions about the president’s citizenship.

Obama supporters forcefully responded at the meeting, and both parties were ordered to leave the building by a security officer. It’s also worth nothing that Kansas Secretary of State, Kris Kobach, is known for his tough stance against illegal immigration and has served as an “informal adviser” to Mitt Romney’s campaign.

The Kansas ballot measure is one of several examples of the birther movement’s still-persistent presence this election year. Officials in Iowa and Arizona, for example, called for presidential candidates to show proof of U.S. citizenship before they can appear on the ballot–a not-so-veiled nod to birther conspiracists.

Mitt Romney trys to be funny on HIS birth Certificate…He makes ANOTHER Ooops?

Romney goes ‘off script’ at President Obama being born in the United States….

(he has said HE DOES believe Obama was born in the US)

Thus stirring up the water AGAIN ….

And further burying HIS campaign points…..

But playing to HIS base that STILL does HAVE people who don’t think Obama was born in America…

Mitt Romney began his stump speech in Michigan on Friday with a joke which raised a sensitive issue: birth certificates.

“I love being home in this place where Ann and I were raised, where both of us were born,” he said. “Ann was born at Henry Ford hospital, I was born at Harper hospital. No one has ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.”

Some Republicans, known as “birthers,” have questioned the birthplace of President Barack Obama.

Obama’s long-form birth certificate was released by the White House in 2011. It showed he was born in a Hawaii hospital on August 4, 1961. Only “natural born” citizens of the United States are eligible to be president….

The Obama Campaign pushback was instantaneous…..

By BYRON TAU |@ Politico

The Obama campaign is taking offense to a joke by Mitt Romney about his birth certificate.

“Throughout this campaign, Gov. Romney has embraced the most strident voices in his party instead of standing up to them. It’s one thing to give the stage in Tampa to Donald Trump, Sheriff Arpaio, and Kris Kobach,” press secretary Ben LaBolt said in a statement.

“But Governor Romney’s decision to directly enlist himself in the birther movement should give pause to any rational voter across America,” LaBolt said.

“No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised,” Romney said in Michigan Friday — a nod towards some of Obama’s more unhinged critics who (falsely) believe that he was born outside of the United States….

RedState on Rick Perry’s teasing the President on the Birther issue…

Surprising answer here…..

Rick Perry’s Birtherism

Posted by Erick Erickson (Diary)

On a day when he should be focused on his 20/20 plan, the press wants Rick Perry to focus on Barack Obama’s ‘birth certificate.” Why? Because a Parade interviewer asked Perry about it and Perry did not flat out say “Obama is an American citizen.”

So now the press is after him. John Harwood of the New York Times asked Perry three times about the subject in one interview.

It is clear from the interviews that (A) Perry does not much care; (B) Perry thinks it is fun to tease Barack Obama about it and (C) the press wants a definitive answer.

Because Perry admits it is a distraction and it is clear the press will not let go of it, Rick Perry just needs to get it over with and say the man is an American. But I suspect he won’t do that even though he should.

Rick Perry likes picking on Barack Obama. Watching the video below, it seems to me that Perry is not a birther, but sure isn’t afraid to use the issue to needle the President, whether I or anyone else likes it or not….
