The NY Giants fire their Head Coach McAdoo and General Manager Reese….

’bout time….

Both Ben McAdoo and Jerry Reese are canned as the Giants continue to spiral and now sit at 2-10.

The Giants have fired Ben McAdoo and Jerry Reese, the Daily News confirmed.

Benching Eli Manning and making the franchise quarterback cry for the world to see was the last straw for McAdoo. Reese, despite two Super Bowl wins in his first season of 2007 and in 2011, has missed the playoffs five of the past six seasons primarily due to his mismanagement of the roster and draft.

Only 10 of Reese’s 43 draft picks from 2010-2015 remain on the team. And his refusal this offseason to upgrade the offensive line was nothing short of malpractice. He was spared two years ago when Tom Coughlin was shown the door but couldn’t survive a second plummeting of the team on his watch.

Giants co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch also canned McAdoo as head coach Monday morning, less than two full seasons into a four-year contract, with the Giants an unthinkable 2-10 coming off Sunday’s 24-17 loss to the Raiders at the Black Hole in Oakland. Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will take over duties as head coach, with assistant GM Kevin Abrams as GM, according to NFL Network….

Ezekiel Elliott eligible to play Week 1 vs. Giants despite six-game suspension being upheld

…from the NY Daily News….

Ezekiel Elliott is eligible to play against the Giants on Sunday night despite having his six-game suspension upheld by NFL arbitrator Harold Henderson. And now a federal judge in Texas will determine whether Elliott must begin serving his sentence in Week 2 or if the NFL’s form of justice deserves more scrutiny in court.

And it doesn’t sound as if court went well for the NFL on Tuesday night.

League attorneys acknowledged to presiding Judge Amos Mazzant in federal court on Tuesday night that Elliott’s suspension cannot begin this weekend because NFL arbitrator Harold Henderson had not ruled on Elliott’s appeal of Roger Goodell’s decision by 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Cowboys announced on Twitter Elliott will play Week 1 against the Giants….

If the NY Giants lose…What to do about the Coach and the Quarterback?

I say send them both someplace else….

If NY Giants can’t beat Texans, Big Blue’s season will be about 2015 — and what to do with Tom Coughlin and Eli Manning

If the Giants fall to 0-3, there will be months of questions about whether this is finally the end for Coughlin. There will be even tougher questions about Manning, and if he should still be the Giants’ franchise quarterback.

NYC PAPERS OUT. Social media use restricted to low res file max 184 x 128 pixels and 72 dpi Robert Sabo/New York Daily News The Giants don’t want to part ways with Tom Coughlin, but another 0-3 start (or worse) could force the hands of John Mara and Steve Tisch.

There are storm clouds coming, and the Giants can see them not too far in the distance. There’s not a person in their locker room who doesn’t know what’s at stake on Sunday afternoon. They know that if they don’t beat the Houston Texans their season is over.

Maybe not actually over, but realistically it probably is.

They can see that from the deep, dark 0-2 hole they’re in for the second straight season — a hole from which only 12% of teams since 1990 have managed to climb out of in time to reach the playoffs. And if the Giants lose to the Houston Texans on Sunday, the 0-3 hole is exponentially deeper. Only three teams since 1990 have reached the playoffs after a start like that. The last one was in 1998.

And the Giants also know that it’s worse for them, because if their season disintegrates this early again, the futures of Tom Coughlin, Jerry Reese, Eli Manning and probably half the players in the locker room will be fodder for debate from Sunday afternoon until late December. Those storm clouds will completely engulf their offices out in the corner of the parking lot at the Meadowlands.

That makes this about as much of a “must-win” as they could get.

“I think it’s extremely critical,” said defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka. “We’re not panicked, but we’re definitely rushed.”

They are not panicked — at least they don’t appear to be. In fact, they’ve appeared oddly confident all week long, considering they didn’t look particularly good in either of their first two games. Think back a year ago, though, and they were oddly confident at 0-2 then, too. And again at 0-3. And then 0-4, 0-5 and 0-6….

Married Ladies Allegedly Want to Bang Eli Manning…..

Every once and a while I run across something crazy ….

This is one of them…..

From Jezebel……

Married Ladies Allegedly Want to Bang Eli Manning

Some of you may care about the outcome of the upcoming Super Bowl (unless, like many, you’re already convinced of the grossness of both teams and are rooting for Legionnaire’s disease). However, as always, cheating website Ashley Madison is asking the tough questions: who would married ladies rather do, Eli Manning or Tom Brady? Oddly, 54% of women picked the doofy Manning because of his supposed “boy next door” looks. Shutdown Corner theorizes that ladies might also feel threatened by sleeping with a man who’s also been with Gisele Bundchen. Sadly, Ashley Madison did not calculate the percentage of women who would rather contract Legionnaire’s disease than have sex with either quarterback; we suspect that number might be high…..

The women out thee…..

Any comments?
