Pelosi: ‘Five white guys’ leading DACA talks should open a ‘hamburger stand’…

The House Minority Leader’s comments point to the fact that NO minority lawmakers are involved in drafting the legislation that affects mainly minorities…

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi complained Thursday that immigration negotiations are being led by “five white guys” — and was quickly rebuked by her No. 2, Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, himself one of those white guys involved in the talks.

“The five white guys I call them, you know,” Pelosi said at her weekly news conference. “Are they going to open a hamburger stand next or what?” Pelosi said, complaining that minority members of Congress were not involved in deciding the fate of Dreamers.

Pelosi’s quip was a reference to the hamburger chain Five Guys and the five white men leading the immigration negotiations. In addition to Hoyer, they include Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas), Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

The group of House and Senate leaders held a meeting on immigration earlier this week.

“That could’ve been done four months ago. The very idea that this week they’re saying, ‘Oh why don’t we get four white guys and General Kelly to come and do this,’” she continued. The lack of minority involvement only serves to delay a deal, she argued, since it would need sign-off from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and others….

The Republicans ARE in deep trouble in 2018 Generic House polling…

We are less than eleven months from the 2018 Midterm Elections and Republicans are besides themselve because they just passed a tax cut/giveaway bill….But they have a budget bill to wrestle with…They have a Presidential leader with an OVERALL approval number in the mid30’s….They some members talking about cutting Social Security and Medicare and the prospect of their leader being accused of Obstructing Justice to get in bed with the Russian’s…..

A wave seems to be forming for the Democrats to take back the US House ….That will be a BAD LOOK for Donald Trump & Co.

Here’s a look at things from PPP  via twitter….

Don’t look but Republicanbs ARE working behind the scene’s with Democrats to not have a Govt Shutdown….

While the focus has been on getting the tax bill done…

Leaders of both parties in the House and Senate have been quietly working together to deal with the 2018 Budget…While Conservative Republicans have been making the media happy with their noise?….The stepped back to let the Senate version of the tax bill become the law….And while the GOP has been doing their thing without the Democrats on taxes….THAT won’t be the case with the budget which HAS TO have Democratic votes to pass….

No one wants a government shutdown…So the Democrats WILL have get somethings in the final budget….

That means the issue of Obamacare support, DACA /Immigration  and other issues will have to be worked on…

Compromise will have to be in the air….

Conservative House members won’t be happy….

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Monday ticked off a half-dozen “important tasks” that he says must see action by week’s end — including averting a government shutdown — but it’s not clear whether partisan deadlock will make that possible.

Children’s health funding. A warrantless surveillance program. A popular veterans program. Natural disaster funding. An Obamacare stabilization initiative. Averting across-the-board cuts to social programs next month.

“Across all these critical areas, Congress must do what is right for the American people and take action this week,” McConnell said on the floor, kicking off what is likely to be Congress’ final week of 2017.

All that — plus a once-in-a-generation tax overhaul — are on the docket in the next four days.

But shortly after McConnell spoke on Monday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer accused him and House Speaker Paul Ryan of canceling the latest round of talks to fund the government past Friday night — suggesting a rocky week ahead.

“The Republican members of the team called off the negotiations and said, ‘Let’s do it tomorrow,’ as the clock ticks,” Schumer said on the floor, warning that there is “little time left before the end of the year.”

McConnell and Schumer have been meeting privately for weeks, along with Ryan and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, to hammer out a two-year spending deal that would raise spending caps for defense and domestic programs.

That agreement, which sources have said is within reach, would likely include some of these long-simmering issues on McConnell’s to-do list.

Not every conflict is likely to be resolved. Schumer said Monday that he is still pushing for a separate immigration deal to be attached, providing protections for so-called Dreamers coupled with additional border security.

Several liberal Democrats have threatened to vote against a funding bill without a fix for the young undocumented immigrants, even as House Republicans have demanded that it be separate from spending talks….

Democratic House Minority Leader Pelosi doesn’t want to hear about impeaching Trump…

It DOES appear that Democratic Senate Minority Leader Schumer and Pelosi have agreeded to NOT run exclusivly against Trump as one issue point….They KNOW that Trump’s support is NOT based on his policy and they seem to feel that Trump HIMSELF, Mueller and Democratic candidates focused on local issue’s will be path for Democrats to do well in next years Midterm elections….

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi offered a forced smile recently when asked on MSNBC about a Tom Steyer-sponsored ad that calls for President Donald Trump’s impeachment.

“That’s a great ad,” Pelosi said twice, before rushing to plug the Democrats’ Better Deal economic agenda as the TV hit wrapped up.

Pelosi played it off, but privately she was peeved. She told lawmakers at a Democratic leadership meeting soon after that she had reached out to the Democratic megadonor to tell him that his $10 million ad campaign is a distraction. (A source close to Steyer said he hasn’t spoken with Pelosi since the ad launched.)

Pelosi is eager to show her party can govern — in contrast to the chaos surrounding Trump — and she believes that a reputation as the “no drama” Democrats is key to taking back the House in 2018 and whisking her backing into the speaker’s chair….

Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) calls for Pelosi to step down….

Ain’t gonna happen till Nancy Pelosi wants to go….

And she has support that has consistantly elected her to lead in the House for her party ….

But Sanchez DOES make a point that the Democratic leadership in the House  in Congress is composed of people who are in their 70’s….

On Thursday, Sanchez signaled in a television interview that the generational rift remains.

“I do think it’s time to pass a torch to a new generation of leaders, and I want to be a part of that transition,” Sanchez said on C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” in an interview conducted by reporters with The Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times. “I want to see that happen. I think we have too many great members here that don’t always get the opportunities that they should. I would like to see that change.”

Pressed to clarify her comments, Sanchez went further and said House Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer (Md.) and House Assistant Minority Leader James E. Clyburn (S.C.), who have been part of Pelosi’s leadership team for more than a decade, also should prepare to step down.

“They are all of the same generation, and, again, their contributions to the Congress and the caucus are substantial. But I think there comes a time when you need to pass that torch. And I think it’s time,” she said.

Sanchez said that the leadership change did not need to happen immediately but by after next year’s elections. The 48-year-old lawmaker also stressed that her concerns were about seniority. “This is not an age thing,” she said.

Hoyer, 78, has served in Congress since 1981 and as Pelosi’s deputy since she took the top spot in 2003. Clyburn, 77, has been in Congress since 1993 and served as majority whip when Democrats controlled the House from 2007 to 2011. In the years since, he has served as “assistant Democratic leader.”

Drew Hammill, a Pelosi spokesman, said in an email that she “enjoys wide support in the Caucus and has always said she is not in Congress on a shift but on a mission. Leader Pelosi is focused on winning back the House and anything else is a distraction from our path to the Majority.”…..

Pelosi confronted with a crowd demanding a ‘clean’ Dreamers Bill vote….

Ain’t gonna happen…

Pelosi KNOWS she’s gotta make a deal that will let Republicans take SOMETHING home besides just letting 800,000 to 1.2 Million undocumented persons stay in America, that could in fact be deported….

But the pressuer WILL keep the House MInority Leader from giving up too much for what she wants….

Image result for pelosi dreamers protests

And YES…..

President Obama DID go ahead and deported a LOT of undocumented people in hopes of getting a deal from Republicans….

No such deal ever occurred….Republicans rolled Obama….

It IS fair to make sure Pelosi doesn’tget rolled like Obama was……

The protesters demanded “a clean bill” — meaning that the Dream Act would get an up-or-down vote on its own without any language regarding border security attached. They “demanded” that Pelosi show a commitment to protecting “all 11 million” undocumented immigrants believed to be in the country.

“We demand accountability. Democrats are not the resistance of Trump. We are!” they shouted.

One male protest leader then started a call and response with the group, addressing Pelosi directly and pointing his finger at her: “Congresswoman Pelosi! You called this press conference in our name to defend the so-called Dream Act,” they said.

“First you said you supported a clean Dream Act. And last week you announced that you had agreed and I quote you, ‘To work out a package of border security.’ Your words. Or were you misquoted? We cannot say, however, that we are surprised,” they added.

They also complained that the Obama administration had systematically deported hundreds of thousands of people.

“Where was your resistance then?” they asked…..

Could Steve Bannon help Nanacy Pelosi become Speaker again?

Seems the word is out that Bannon back at Breibart and inching to ‘tear the place down’ is getting ready to go after Grand Ole Party lawmakers that haven’t kowtowed to his ex-bosses ill conceived wishes….

Good Look there Steve!

I never thought you and Donald cared much for the Republican party even though he’s the head of it….

You guys may turn out to be the Democrats best hope for gaining back a majority in the House next year…Actually?

If ya work hard enough?

You might be able to get Chuck Schumer the Majority leader in the Senate also…

President Donald Trump’s closest allies are planning a slate of primary challenges against Republican senators, potentially undermining the party’s prospects in 2018 and further inflaming tensions between GOP leaders and the White House.

The effort is being led by Steve Bannon, Trump’s bomb-throwing former chief strategist, who is launching an all-out war against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the Republican establishment. Bannon has begun holding private meetings with insurgent challengers, vowing his support. He’s coordinating with conservative mega-donor Robert Mercer, who is prepared to pour millions of dollars into attacks on GOP incumbents. Bannon has also installed a confidant at an outside group that is expected to target Republican lawmakers and push the Trump agenda.

The activity has alarmed senior Republicans, who worry it will drain millions of dollars from the party’s coffers to take on Democrats in the general election. McConnell has repeatedly expressed concern to the White House about the danger primaries pose to his members, stressing that it could imperil his narrow four-seat majority, according to three people with direct knowledge of the discussions.

“The issue is: Do you invest your time and energy in attacking people who are carrying this president’s water in Congress to the benefit of people who are trying to impeach him? That seems like an incredibly short-sighted strategy,” said Josh Holmes, a former McConnell chief of staff.

Bannon is paying little heed to those warnings….

Fresh off a stinging health-care defeat and with internal chaos embroiling the Trump administration, White House aides are signaling newfound openness to working with congressional Democrats—or, at least, to alleviating some of the toxic partisan differences that have marked their tenure.

Sources in the administration say an outreach campaign by newly minted Chief of Staff John Kelly is in the works to rebuild some bridges and, potentially, chip away at the unified Democratic opposition to President Donald Trump’s agenda. Even before he formally started the job, Kelly was reaching out to top Capitol Hill Democrats in hopes of regaining political capital ahead of what is expected to be a bruising fight over tax reform and other administration priorities.

“Tax reform is gonna be a heavy lift,” a senior White House official told The Daily Beast. “No reason to write off/alienate [Democrats] any more than we already have.”

A spokeswoman for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told The Daily Beast that Kelly reached out her over the weekend with the two holding a phone conversation Sunday. A spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) confirmed that Kelly reached out to him as well…..

Republican Super Pac will make Pelosi a target for next years Midterms…..

While Democratic House members are loath to get rid of their Minority House Leader because of her fundraising prowess…..

Republicans are moving to place House Democratic Minority Leader in the same class as Hillary Clinton….

A ‘Bad’ …’Bad’….Democrat….(Woman)

Several Democrats have joined Republican efforts in getting rid of Pelosi as Minority Leader….

The leader of the most important House GOP super PAC said Tuesday that the group will double-down on tried-and-true tactics for electing Republicans in 2018: tying Democratic candidates to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

The Congressional Leadership Fund, which has ties to House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), plans to spend $100 million before next year’s midterm elections, and Executive Director Corry Bliss said in a memo released Tuesday that he sees no reason to abandon a strategy that has paid dividends for six years — most recently in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District, where CLF advertising featuring Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her San Francisco district helped define and defeat Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff in this month’s special election there.

“During the 2018 cycle, CLF will spend millions of dollars highlighting Nancy Pelosi’s toxic agenda and reminding voters across the country that Democratic candidates are nothing more than rubber stamps for her out-of-touch, liberal policies,” Bliss said in the memo.

It is not unusual for a congressional leader to be widely unpopular. What is unusual is the relentlessness and effectiveness of the GOP’s targeting of Pelosi….

Republican operatives say that 98 percent of voters in the 6th District already had an impression of Pelosi when they conducted their first internal poll, and she was 35 points underwater. When presented with the choice of whether they wanted a representative who would work with Paul Ryan or Pelosi, six in 10 picked the Speaker and three in 10 picked the minority leader…..

While national Republicans threw the kitchen sink at Ossoff, perhaps their most potent — and consistent — attack was linking him to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Democrats have to admit they have a Pelosi problem, especially in red states and districts. Yes, she brings money and legislative savvy to the party. But if Democratic candidates like Ossoff are going to campaign on change, Republicans can quickly undercut that message by simply showing Pelosi. It’s a legitimate question Democrats must ask themselves: Can they win back the House with Pelosi promising to stay in power?…

House Democrats aren’t ready for Trump impeachment action…No Yet…

California  Democratic House Rep maxine Waters got asked about impeaching President Trump , who has been in office for about two and a half weeks and has shown a knack for NOT knowing what he is saying and trying to do…

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca) spoke after Waters and indicated that even though Trump seems to NOT know what’s he’s doing and making a mess of things….

He has not reached the level of breaking the law (Yet?) that would trigger a call for impeachment action….

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) does not think President Donald Trump has committed any impeachable offenses ― yet.

Pelosi held a press conference on Monday with the top Democrats on the Financial Services Committee, Rep. Maxine Waters of California and other Democrats to discuss Trump’s recent efforts to undermine financial regulations.

Waters got a question about a recent comment where she said her “greatest desire is to lead him right into impeachment.”

Asked if it was appropriate to be talking about impeachment, Waters said she had not called for impeachment yet. “He’s doing it himself,” she said.

Waters mentioned Trump’s travel ban and his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “He is leading himself into that kind of position, where folks will begin to ask, ‘What are we going to do?’ And the answer is going to be, eventually, ‘We’ve got to do something about it,’” Waters said. “We cannot continue to have a president who’s acting in this manner. It is dangerous to the United States of America.”

Pelosi was then asked if she agreed with Waters, and while she agreed that Waters’ litany of complaints were “grounds for displeasure,” she stopped short of advocating impeachment.

Pelosi said Trump had acted in a way that is “strategically incoherent, that is incompetent, and that is reckless.”

“And that is not grounds for impeachment,” Pelosi continued. “When and if he breaks the law, that is grounds for when something like that would come up.”….
