Good….

The Democratic party isn’t Sanders party….

Heck, Sanders isn’t evn a Democrat…

This Sanders ‘personal thing’ needs to flush out and Democrats need to embrace their thing and add some parts of Sanders mesage which does appeal to them…

The Democratic party cannot afford to just turn hard left and lose voters that Obama and Bill Clinton carried for two term Presidencies…

First elected to Congress in 2006, Ellison has grown listless and bored in the House, according to multiple people who’ve spoken with him in recent months. He’s still far from even being a ranking member on a subcommittee, and Democratic prospects of retaking the majority in the House soon remain uphill.

Ellison has also told friends about chafing at being the number two at the DNC, occasionally clashing with Tom Perez, who beat him for the top spot before appointing him to his current position. More often he expresses frustration at not being able to set the direction for the official party apparatus, according to several who’ve spoken to him.

The job could give Ellison a prominent spot alongside other state attorneys general who’ve taken the lead in fighting the Trump administration — efforts that many Minnesota Democrats wanted Swanson to be more active in.

In the fall, he reached out to the Democratic Attorneys General Association, the D.C.-based group supporting campaigns, and had already caught the eye of DAGA co-chair Karl Racine, the D.C. attorney general.

Though Ellison has indicated to several people close to him in recent days that he’s less likely to run, he finds the idea enticing…

To some extent, the Democrats’ developments reflect routine party politics after an unusually contentious chairman’s race, but they also fit into the ongoing philosophical tussle on the left.

Sanders’ backers accused the DNC in 2016 of stacking the nominating process in Clinton’s favor and shutting out the Vermont independent who still seeks to pull the party toward his ideology. Those frustrations carried over into the DNC chair race between Perez, the former labor secretary, and Ellison.

Now, Perez’s appointees will hold sway over setting the primary calendar in 2020 and, perhaps most importantly, whether the party’s superdelegates, including the 75 at-large members, will continue to cast presidential nominating votes at Democratic conventions without being bound to any state primary or caucus results.

Democrats are looking next month to hold the Virginia governor’s seat and wrest the New Jersey governor’s seat from Republican control. Next year, Democrats need to flip at least 24 Republican congressional seats to regain control of the House. They face an uphill battle in gaining control of the Senate, because they must defend 10 incumbents in states Trump won last November. Democrats also want to increase their gubernatorial roster from the current 15 state executives.

Separately, former Attorney General Eric Holder urged the party to play the long game necessary to overcome Republican advantages scored when GOP-run legislatures drew congressional and legislative districts around the country after the 2010 census…..

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) said former President Obama is partially to blame for the Democrats’ poor showing at the polls in 2016.

Ellison, now the deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee, blamed Obama for ignoring party politics while he was in office, which he said had put the president’s legacy at risk.

“Look I’m a great fan of President Obama. I totally voted for many of the things he supported — Dodd Frank, Affordable Care Act, Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act — I could keep going,” Ellison said at an event Wednesday at the University of Minnesota.

“Wonderful achievements. But Barack Obama could have been a better party leader and I think the fact that he wasn’t put his legacy in jeopardy,” he said.

Ellison added that Obama was “great at getting himself elected,” but said he should have worked closer with party leaders to ensure the Democrats were in power to protect his accomplishments.

“Your legacy is not a building that he’s going to construct in Chicago housing his presidential papers,” Ellison continued. “His legacy is the work he’s done which I believe is tremendous. But given we lost a lot of statehouse seats, governorships, secretary of states, his true legacy is in danger and I think he can’t say that he wasn’t part of those losses. Who else, right?”…
