Luke Skywalker is back to Star Wars in triumphant style.

Mark Hamill was the featured attraction at the world premiere for Star Wars: The Last Jedi Saturday night, the last star to be introduced to the stage of the Shrine Auditorium by writer-director Rian Johnson.

Hamill hammed with his entrance, popping his collar in front of the wildly cheering crowd of 2,200, before swanning to his spot onstage with fellow actors Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Benicio del Toro and John Boyega.

This was even before the theater lights dropped to see Hamill performing Luke Skywalker’s dramatic and full return to the beloved sci-fi franchise. Hamill briefly appeared at the end of 2015’s The Force Awakens.

Formal reviews for The Last Jedi have been embargoed before the Dec.15 opening. But the film received wild applause and exclamation from audience members in key moments, including the first time the robed Skywalker appeared onscreen…..

Today Lucas Film and Disney advise that the Star Wars saga will have another film released with the original actors and with time sequence of 30 years after the ‘Return of the Jedi’…..

Star Wars Episode VII is an upcoming American space opera film and the seventh film in the Star Warsfilm series. Filming will begin in May 2014, with a scheduled release date of December 18, 2015.It forms the first part of the planned third trilogy of Star Wars films, following chronologically in the series after 1983’s Return of the Jedi. It will be the first Star Wars film produced since Disney acquired ownership ofLucasfilm.

J. J. Abrams is attached to direct the film based on a screenplay written by himself and Lawrence Kasdan, who acted as co-writer on The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Originally, Academy Award-winning screenwriter Michael Arndt was attached to pen the screenplay after writing a 40-50 page treatment. Arndt has since dropped out of the production. Producers include Kathleen Kennedy and Abrams’ long-time collaborator Bryan BurkStar Wars creator George Lucas will act as creative consultant on Episode VII (and other new Star Wars films). It appears likely that cast members Harrison FordMark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will reprise their roles from Episodes IVV, and VI…..
