John Huntsman had the Obama campaign worried?

“We were honest about our concerns about Huntsman. I think Huntsman would have been a very tough general election candidate,” Messina said, during a forum sponsored by Politico this week.

“We looked at his profile in a general election and thought he would have been difficult,” he added.

CNN’s Candy Crowley on Why they keep running…..

Despite Mitt Romney having a sizable delegate lead on his rivals, they might not be going anywhere.

So … Mitt Romney wasn’t really a Massachusetts Republican except for the part about him being a Massachusetts Republican because he’d indicated that he’d have been willing to consider doing something if a scenario were to unfold that didn’t actually unfold. The Republican nomination race, as we have noted, has become less a battle between Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum and more one between Mr. Romney and the math: how certain is Mr. Romney to reach the 1,144 delegates required to clinch the nomination before the convention in Tampa, Fla., and when will he do it?

Morning Political Roundup for March 19th 2012…Red Racing Horses

Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum were both in Illinois on Sunday. This Tuesday’s GOP primary is certainly going to be crucial. Romney has the money edge and polls have also shown him ahead in this state. I am just wondering if another big Romney win might be a knockout blow. The delegate math is getting tougher for Santorum as more states go for Romney.
