Presented with that favorable description of the legislation, voters responded warmly, with between 61 and 78 percent in each state expressing support.
Those are probably best-case numbers for immigration reform advocates.

Share on FacebookMassachusetts: Another poll shows Gabriel Gomez behind in his Senate race against Rep. Ed Markey, this time 49-37 from Harper Polling (Of course, that is not the message the Markey campaign is messaging to donors). Nevertheless, a Super PAC, Americans for Progressive Action (the names people think up!), is dropping $700k in ads for Gomez in the homestretch.
Share on Facebook…..Gomez has a new ad out that takes the very hackneyed “fake attacks” route, with a narrator intoning with faux horror: “Gabriel Gomez is a very bad man. He kills old people. He hates women. He even leaves the toilet seat up.” Weak stuff, and there’s no word on the size of the buy.

The Texas governor added Wednesday, “We anticipate the president will hold true to his word and help us work with FEMA to ensure much-needed assistance reaches the community of West.”
Perry’s words were measured compared with those of state Attorney General Greg Abbott.
Share on FacebookBill Clinton told Sen. John McCain he agrees that President Barack Obama should act more forcefully to support anti-Assad rebels in Syria, saying the American public elects presidents and members of Congress “to see down the road” and “to win.”
Share on FacebookMaybe Obama will avoid the second-term curse, though the evidence so far isn’t promising. But if Obama somehow is still wildly popular at the time of the Iowa caucuses, then you as an outsider probably won’t stand a chance.
Share on FacebookWhy would Perry want to run again?
The answer is simple: It’s the lifestyle, stupid……
Share on FacebookAccording to Gallup, “the recovery in Bush’s image is not unexpected, given that Americans generally view former presidents positively. Gallup’s favorable ratings for Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton all exceeded 60% when last measured.”
Share on FacebookMA-Sen: National Republicans have largely stayed out of this race, even as National Dems have engaged heavily. Sort of like last cycle’s OR-1 special, I’m inclined to mark that as a win, for this race being a cash sink for National Dems.

Ralph Northam defeated former White House technology chief Aneesh Chopra by a 54-46 margin, earning him the right to take on the GOP’s already infamous nominee for lieutenant governor, E.W. Jackson. And in the race for attorney general, state Sen. Mark Herring held off attorney Justin Fairfax 52-48;
