Last June Trump TRIED to fire Robert Mueller…His White House Lawyer talked him out of it…

The NY Times is reporting that President Donald Trump ordered Special Council (Prosecutor) Robert Mueller in June of last year…..

The Times reports that Trump’s own White Councel (Lawyer) Donald F. McGahn II, refused to do so, advising that he’d resign….

Anybody out there STILL that Donald Trump isn’t worried about the investigation?

Things ARE just gonna get worst….

President Trump ordered the firing last June of Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation, according to four people told of the matter, but ultimately backed down after the White House counsel threatened to resign rather than carry out the directive.

The West Wing confrontation marks the first time Mr. Trump is known to have tried to fire the special counsel. Mr. Mueller learned about the episode in recent months as his investigators interviewed current and former senior White House officials in his inquiry into whether the president obstructed justice.

Amid the first wave of news media reports that Mr. Mueller was examining a possible obstruction case, the president began to argue that Mr. Mueller had three conflicts of interest that disqualified him from overseeing the investigation, two of the people said…

After receiving the president’s order to fire Mr. Mueller, the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, refused to ask the Justice Department to dismiss the special counsel, saying he would quit instead, the people said. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because they did not want to be identified discussing a continuing investigation.

Mr. McGahn disagreed with the president’s case. He also told senior White House officials that firing Mr. Mueller would have a catastrophic effect on Mr. Trump’s presidency and would incite more questions about whether the White House was trying to obstruct the Russia investigation. Mr. McGahn also told White House officials that Mr. Trump would not follow through on the dismissal on his own. The president then backed off….

via twitter….

To recap: Trump asked Comey for loyalty; asked him to drop the Flynn probe; fired Comey; pressured Sessions not to recuse; pressured Sessions to fire McCabe; pressured Coats, Rogers, Pompeo &multiple congressmen to say he wasn’t under FBI investigation; and tried to fire Mueller.

  1. Good ole “Maggie” from the NY Times, drops a story from 6-7 months ago, about something (Mueller’s firing) that DID NOT HAPPEN, because Trump supposedly listened to advice from his lawyer, despite the media telling us 24/7 that he NEVER TAKES ADVICE.

Tell me, how was his speech received today? Was it good? Was it pro-American?

OR, did he go and apologize to the rest of the world for *something*anything*, like our previous President was known to do?

      1. “His speech was all over the place….”

-Good. I’ll make sure to get the written one, as his style of oratory makes for bad speeches.

    1. In fact the Habberman piece is backed up ….

      Yes it was months ago…
The guy probably saved Trump’s ass…

The firing would have BLOWN up in Trump’s face…

You betcha ass he’s listening to lawyers…
Why else did he NOT go off the handle today?
Why does Trump stay calm with the alwyers bulshitting him that Mueller will be finished by Chrismas past?

      The Lawyers ARE feeding him…
And the guys is so needing it that he’s folowing their advice to shut the heck up!

      1. Got it.

Your thesis is: in private, when nobody can prove it, he is CRAZY and OFF THE MEDS!

Then, in public, where the voters can contrast what they see with what the media feeds them on a daily basis, he is cool calm and collected.

OK, I like that thesis. Run with it! Long-term, it will help.

        1. We have no idea what Trump is like in private other than what those who are close to him have said.

But in public? I have seen Trump cool, calm and collected when he was reading a script that was written by someone else. Otherwise he always seems like he is about to go off the edge – which I suspect is why you find him appealing.

          1. Did you watch the immigration discussion? I didn’t, but according to the news wire, it was a strong performance by Trump.

Were they lying to benefit him?

    2. Does being pro-American mean never having to say you are sorry? I never heard that argument. Please elaborate in some detail – because (how can I say this) that doesn’t come across to well.

      1. Part of being pro-American means looking at the world in context. We are by no mean a perfect nation, but we have done more to liberate individuals around the world in the last 200+ years than any nation before us. Saying “Sorry” does nothing to correct any error/mistake that was made, it just allows the person speaking to FEEL BETTER ABOUT THEM SELF.

Also, if an elected individual is going to say “sorry” while in another country, it should be done AFTER he/she has campaigned in public about looking to correct and apologize for “past wrongs”. The electorate should be aware of what this nation is supposedly “sorry” for.

And YES, I am speaking about Obama. Let me know where the opinions of these writers are incorrect.
