Billionaire will float ads calling for Trump’s Impeachment

Is he laying the ground work for the Mueller Throw-Down?…

California billionaire Tom Steyer announced Friday that he will dump at least $10 million into a national television advertising campaign calling for President Donald Trump’s impeachment.

In the ad, Steyer argues Trump should be ousted from office because he has edged the country toward nuclear war, obstructed justice at the FBI and threatened to shut down news organizations he does not like. He urges viewers to call their members of Congress and tell them to bring articles of impeachment.

“People in Congress and his own administration know this president is a clear and present danger who is mentally unstable and armed with nuclear weapons,” Steyer says in the ad. “And they do nothing.

Steyer plans to spend eight figures to air the television ads nationally, but he would not give an exact amount. His investment comes as he considers running against U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a fellow Democrat, and as Democrats in Washington argue over whether efforts to impeach Trump are smart or worthwhile.

“If Democrats want to appease the far left and their liberal mega-donors by supporting a baseless, radical effort that the vast majority of Americans disagree with, then have at it,” said Michael Ahrens, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee….

  1. This guy should run ads announcing that he will take all the money he will receive from the Trump/Republican tax cut for the wealthy and spend it on trying to remove this fool from office.

    Poetic justice.

That will piss off the Trump cultists.

  2. The guy says he will spend upwards of $10M to run his ads….

Mueller will probably throw down sometime early next year I’d guess…

    The later?

    The better for Democrats…

A bit of history is in order…

The impeachment drama for Bill Clinton led to SEVERAL collateral GOPer’s having to step down from Congress…

I have the view that Mueller’s Report WILL have a much STRONGER impact on Trump and the Republican party than many think…

There where a LOT of people that could be implicated in helping Trump obstruct justice , and could be roped into a conspiracy complaint…As we see with Arpaio…Trump handing out pardon’s could keep people out of jail but not keep them out of the spotlight…

Trump getting the vote itself from the House probably would enough to cripple an already
    inept Admin…
And if the House turned around an actually impeached the guy?

But you’re right this is early…But the clock IS ticking and Donald J Trump lets us know that he is WELL aware of the problems he has from someone checking on him…

This guy laying the possible ground work can’t be comforting to Trump or the Republicans…

  3. Ill reserve judgment on Muellers investigation until I see what he’s got.

So far there is simply a mishmash of speculation abounding.

I will state that unless Mueller produces Overwhelming evidence that Trump has broken specific laws, there is little chance that a majority Republican House will move toward impeachment.Mere suspicion won’t suffice.Further,Mueller needs to wrap this up fairly soon. The longer this goes on ,the greater likelihood that the public will lose interest and that the final result will be an anti climactic report hinting at various possible technical violations that will not be sufficient to merit any Congressional action at all.

  4. Tom Steyer was responsible for passing our new cigarette tax here in California and I consider him a friend. He is clearly bringing up an important topic and will seek to put the House Republicans in a box on this topic before the midterms. He is also thinking about running statewide and this campaign won’t hurt him if he does.

  5. I agree Jack….

I will add that I expect Flynn, Mnanafort, Page and possibly Kushner and Trump Jr to be charged even if Trump isn’t….

It is unknown what the NY State AG will do…And his actions would not be pardonable

I believe there IS a better than 50/50 chance that Mueller will hand up to the House a finding of obstruction of justice…..

    But this is speculation….
