McCain wants No apology from Trump…Asks that he give one to Vets….

McCain’s remarks highlight Trumps NON-service in the military and the sacrifice others have made….

Sen. John McCain on Monday played down his personal spat with Donald Trump, but said that Trump should apologize to prisoners of war after the GOP presidential candidate’s controversial comments mocking McCain for being captured during the Vietnam War.

“He might owe an apology to the families of those who have sacrificed in conflict and those who have undergone the prison experience in serving their country,” McCain (R-Ariz.) said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” adding that Trump didn’t owe him a personal apology.

“Many men and some women who served and sacrificed and happened to be held prisoner. To denigrate that service in any way is offensive to veterans.”

  1. Yeah it’s a bit hard for me to understand those who are (rightfully) offended by what Trump said about McCain, but had no problem attacking Kerry’s war record.

  2. Bluntly ,I’m not sure how “offended” all these Republicans really are.

They’re desperate to get rid of Trump ,that’s plain ,and they see this as a chance to help facilitate that but how really “offended” they are.

Not as much as they would have you believe in my view.

  3. Oh I agree
But they are smart enough to know that Trumps utterance’s WIILL come back sooner or later to bit him on the ass
    National politican’s simply do NOT
    SAY things he has …..
Even if they know the crowd may want to hear it….

  4. That’s certainly the conventional view.

With Trump and his visceral appeal to the Hard Right,I’m not as certain that it will have as negative affect as one might normally think,Indeed, initially anyway, it has seemed the more he is attacked by the Republican establishment the more popular he has become among those types.

I’ll be interested in polls in the next week or so.
