Jeb Bush Update…Confederate flag ‘racist’

Jeb bush breaks from the 2016 GOP Conservative pact on the Confeedarate flag issue….

Does THIS make him a ‘moderate?’

Jeb Bush, a 2016 GOP contender, called the Confederate flag “racist” Monday during his first campaign stop in South Carolina since a deadly shooting at a historic black church nearly two weeks ago.

Bush recalled his own efforts “to do something politically incorrect” and remove a flag with the Confederate symbol from outside the Florida state house when he was governor there.

“The symbols were racist,” Bush said during a stop at a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in South Carolina, according to reports.

“If you’re trying to lean forward rather than live in the past, you want to eliminate the barriers that create disagreements,” he added….

  1. Saying Confederate symbols are racist does not make one a “moderate.” Other GOP candidates are also basically saying the same thing.

That’s what I have said and I certainly consider myself a conservative. It was also a conservative Republican Governor of the state who first called for the flag to come down, back in the 1990s, and was defeated by a Democrat, with that as a contributing factor.

  2. I’m busting on Jack….

Most if not ALL of the 2016 GOPer’s running for the nomination have come down FOR states making the call…

OTHER GOPer’s have rallied to have the flag taken down….

  3. Youre “busting” on me?

    OK

    Whatever that means ?

As for Bush calling the flag “racist?”

I would look for him to “clarify” that remark .The line being adopted here by SC Republicans is that the flag itself is not racist but unfortunately has been expropriated by racist groups.

By the time the SC Primary rolls around,I would expect Bushs view.to be more along that line
