Political Roundup for February 28, 2014…Rand Paul disses the Tea Party…Red Racing Horses

CA-12:  Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is trying to fend off retirement rumors as she says her work is not done in the Congress.  With a number of key Pelosi allies retiring and the Democratic takeover chances falling daily, rumors have been rampant lately she will retire.  I suspect she runs for reelection then retires during the next Congress.

CO-Sen: Senator Mark Udall is attacking Congressman Cory Gardner for engaging in a backroom deal with Ken Buck to switch races.  I am far from impressed.  For once I would love to see a candidate say “Just Bring It” when a strong opponent entered into a race.  I guess that would require more guts than most politicians have today.

MI-12:  Bold Progressive State Senator Rebekah Warren of Ann Arbor is thinking about a run against Debbie Dingell, the presumptive front-runner to replace her husband. If Warren would run and win, we would have the first Congress without a Dingell since the early months of the Third Reich.

PA-6:  Montgomery County Democrats have endorsed two time PA-6 loser, Bold Progressive icon, and RRH punching bag, Manan Trivedi, for the Democratic nomination.  They have joined Chester County Democrats and chose Trivedi over DCCC favorite and Republican as of last October Mike Parrish.  Being a Bold Progressive is more important than having a chance at winning apparently!

Paul/Tea Party:  Senator Rand Paul has made some thoughtful comments regarding the tea party and many of its followers inability to avoid foot in mouth syndrome.  Paul stresses the importance of making sure your commentary does not drive controversy and focusing on language in general…..
