The Washington Post is out with a story today quoting former FISA judges as dismayed with the idea that they ‘roll over’ for the Government when they are asked to approve NSA and CIA covert requests….
Of course this is normal that judges get beat up by one or the other side when making rulings…..
It now appears that there is concerted campaign in the media and elsewhere to do what Edward Snowden wanted….To declassify American Spying efforts world wide….
There are reports that the US listen to European Union meetings and other actions…..
While these revelations will be surprises to everyday people around the globe….They are NOT to the government officials….It is common knowledge that EVERY country with the technical means spy’s on other countries…I have pointed out that one just needs to walk down the street of any city to the embassy row to see buildings with villages of antenna’s aimed at other embassies….
It is what countries do….
Meanwhile the judges get their chance to grip to the media , which OF COURSE are running these stories with increased audiences (Ad revenue) in mind and yea to inform the public also….
Recent leaks of classified documents have pointed to the role of a special court in enabling the government’s secret surveillance programs, but members of the court are chafing at the suggestion that they were collaborating with the executive branch.
A classified 2009 draft report by the National Security Agency’s inspector general relayed some details about the interaction between the court’s judges and the NSA, which sought approval for the Bush administration’s top-secret domestic surveillance programs. The report was described in The Washington Post on June 16 and released in full Thursday by The Post and the British newspaper the Guardian.Share on Facebook
