For the last 12 hours we’ve been watching Rep Todd Akin (R-Mo) twist in the wind for making dumb remarks about rape and pregnancy….
The worst part is Rep. Paul Ryan (R- Wi) has tried to help Akin get a bill passed against abortion…..
We’re also watching the ‘Ryan bounce’ dissipating right in front of our eyes…..
With about two weeks before the Republican Convention the Romney camp has laid down the law to VP GOP candidate Ryan….
Who , along with Mitt Romney is trying to recover against Ryan’s planned Medicare cuts by jettison them and trying to turn the issue into
President Obama s ‘stealing funds ‘ from the program when he’s switch the funds to the Affordable Healthcare program, instead of the Defense the Department like Ryan’s plan wants to…
The PDog has had some internal tinkering….

Within the MOE and less than 24 hours into this story which JUST HIT big THIS MORNING!
Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) did not show up for his scheduled interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan on his show Monday night, prompting Morgan to call him a “gutless little twerp.” Like so many Republicans.
But, I hope this isn’t a sign that he is stepping down. His wife won’t like it, and either will God for that matter.
This little “scandal” is less that 48 hours old and the Republicans are already in a panic. I wonder if Todd has taken the phone off the hook? I just love it. He might as well have just said, “they should relax and enjoy it.”
Aside from my odds posts and the occasional prediction, don’t expect any more front-page articles from me going forward.

Just loved the way Sean Hannity begged Akin to step down last night. When will the Republican Party have to declare Fox News on its balance sheet?
Corey sure was active last night for someone “who quit” this blog and wanted all of his writings removed. Corey seems to have selective memory and appeared to be rather angry with Zreebs (at least I think it was anger). James also seems to think Corey has a posse, I think he would be much better off with a girlfriend — but that won’t happen.

I’m sure he was offended by the foreign agent comment, but my bet is that was just the last straw, He doesn’t like threads about sneakers or threads on stupid ass theories or predictions, and he doesn’t like us (except for DSD – I suspect because of his frequent willingness to defend conservatives even though he is a leftist).

Akin’s Comments Force a Rating Change
Republican U.S. Rep. Todd Akin’s comment over the weekend about “legitimate rape” has rendered him unelectable in his bid against Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill. As such, the race moves to the Toss up column to leans Democratic…..
A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds President Obama leading Mitt Romney nationally by four points, 48% to 44%.
“These numbers are only slightly changed from July, when Obama led Romney by six points in the survey, 49 percent to 43 percent, suggesting a minimal bounce for Romney (if at all) after this month’s Ryan pick.”
Key findings: “Looking inside the numbers, Obama continues to lead Romney among key parts of his political base, including African Americans (94 percent to 0 percent), Latinos (by a 2-to-1 margin), voters under 35-years-old (52 percent to 41 percent) and women (51 percent to 41 percent). Romney is ahead with whites (53 percent to 40 percent), rural voters (47 percent to 38 percent) and seniors (49 percent to 41 percent). And the two presidential candidates are essentially even when it comes to the swing groups of suburban voters, Midwest residents and political independents.”
This poll (one of the better ones, no crap here as they say) indicates an approximately one-point bounce for Romney since picking Ryan, and the SuperPac money has been flowing in all summer.
The Akin implication which has reignited the GOP’s War on Women has yet to measured in national polling — and now the Republicans have decided to go all Akin with their platform.
All this and both Biden and a hurricane are headed for Tampa. What fun.
And yet – here we are, with the president still leading, despite being grossly outspent.
I’d rather be Team Obama right now that Team Romney.
Palin says that Sarah Steelman should run as a third party candidate.
I wholeheartedly endorse this idea.

Obama leads Romney only by a Point among Latinos. That is striking because a NBC NEWS/Univision/Telemundo Poll in June found the President leading among Latinos 69-23 Nationwide.
I think it’s impossible for Romney to win the Latino vote.
I see that voting bloc going to Obama 63-37.
But if that poll is true, then Obama can kiss states like CO, FL, and NM goodbye.
A 45 point shift would indicate doom for Obama.
I’ve always maintained that this race is wide open.

The Romney Camp is targetting 38 % of the Latino Vote Nationwide. George W. Bush got I think 40 % in 2004.
Romney getting 0% of the African-American vote?
