Doug Collins has secured the endorsement of Zell Miller.
Martha Zoller has secured the endorsement of Sarah Palin.
Miller’s still fairly popular around here.
I expect Collins to deliver a drubbing to that Liberal Zoller on August 21.
SE, in the down-ballot TX statewide offices: Christi Craddick (R) easily won her party’s nomination for Railroad Commissioner-Place 3 and she faces Democrat Dale Henry (D) in November and she’s going to win the general in a blowout and she’s the daughter of former TX House Speaker Tom Craddick (R-Midland).
Railroad Commissioner-Place 1: Barry Smitherman (R) won the runoff in a landslide and with no major party opposition in the fall, Smitherman wins the unexpired term of former Railroad Commissioner Michael L. Williams (R-who resigned last year to seek an unsuccessful bid for a House seat) and he’s going to be on the ballot again in 2014 when he’s up for a full six-year term.
Texas Supreme Court Justice-Place 4: incumbent David Medina (R) fell victim to the Mexican last name purge and lost his re-election bid for a 2nd full six-year term to John Devine (R) in a close runoff vote for the GOP nomination. Medina (appointed by Perry in 2004), has been on the TX Supreme Court since 2004 and was elected in 2006.
