After the back and forth in the Republican contest we have a direction….

With President Obama and Mitt Romney squaring off against each for the November 6, 2012 Presidential Election we’re focusing

on that race here at the Dog….

It SHOULD be REAL interesting watching Mitt Romney drive back to the middle…

Anyways….

The political things will cool down for a while…..

That’s good….

The race was getting tired….

We’ll look at the other races in the Senate , The House and other places…..

The Supreme’s will light the place up in June on the Healthcare Law….

So we’ll wait for that….

Hillary Clinton’s fan club members are STILL out there…

And gas prices are between $3.99 and $4.13 around my way….

Oh, yea….

I didn’t win the Mega…..

It’s like that….

  3. James B, some political analyst believe that Santorum’s exit will dramatically affect the GOP primaries for down-ballot offices here in Texas, especially the US Senate race where Santorum’s backers could help Ted Cruz’s uphill bid against frontrunner Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst (R-who has won 4 statewide elections).

  6. To follow up on my report of Mitt Romney’s talk in Warwick, Rhode Island, tonight (on the now retired, vanished and irretrievable delegate-count open thread):

Apart from his own fund-raising, Mitt Romney probably also wants to give a push for Brendan Doherty, the retired State Police Superintendent who’s opposing Cong. David Cicilline (D) in the 1st District.

  7. I remember you mentioning that a while ago….
Yea Romney’s people will need all the IOU’s they can get for November…

  10. And in the category of idiocity of the day

The Communist party today denied Republican Congressnut Allen Wests statement that 80 Democrats in Congress were Communist party members

Republicans really miss the good o, Cold War years

West is a retired Lt Col and illustrates whyI am always skeptical of the blatherings of active and retired military bigwigs and their “analysis”

  11. So Zimmerman gets charged w 2nd degree murder…

I have to admit – the scenes from “The Wire” keeps rolling in the back of my mind.. all the murders that happens on the street – and nobody never get brought to justice..

  12. A handful (literally: far fewer than ten) of members of Congress have been comrades of mine in Democratic Socialists of America (no affiliation at all to the Communist Party USA or the international Communist movement): Ron Dellums, Bernie Sanders, John Conyers and maybe one or two others. They don’t hide their affiliation.

Two men were elected to Congress on the Socialist Party ticket in the early twentieth century: Victor Berger of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Meyer London from New York City, but both were out of Congress by 1925.

The closest the Communist Party USA got to Congress was Congressman Vito Marcantonio of Harlem, elected on the in the American Labor Party ticket in the 1940′s, but he wasn’t a member and broke with the Party as the Party headed down the path of ruin during the Cold War.

Note that Berger, London, Marcantonio and Sanders were not Democrats, and didn’t belong to the Democratic caucus in Congress.

The Communist Party today (or even 10-20 years ago) is a pathetic shadow of a past when it had a mass following and was subsidized by the Soviet Union. It’s been probably a decade now since it had to move out of its four-storey townhouse headquarters (which once I picketed with fellow socialists demanding freedom for Soviet Jews) at 23 West 26th Street in the Garment District (Lower East Side) of Manhattan, donating an enormous archive of records to an academic library collection. The idea that it controls or could control 80 Democratic members of Congress is absurd. How would those Congressmen benefit, materially, politically or even intellectually?

The Party (Communist, that is, not Democratic) web site is http://www.cpusa.org

  13. Rep. Allen West’s main current target seems to be food stamps (SNAP):

  15. Guess who responded to a tweet I made that was critical of CNN’s using Roland Martin as a reporter on the Trayvon Martin case?

    Roland Martin.

  16. So…
    What did he say?

  17. Roland Martin’s response to my tweet stating that he was the least qualified choice for reporting on Trayvon Martin:

“So I guess since I’ve been leading on this story, you are afraid to hear the truth? Stay uninformed if you like!”

  18. Martin only stated the obvious

You are “uninformed” about most things

  19. I don’t have a problem with him, per se.

I just don’t think that he, who has a vested interest in this case, was a qualified reporter.

Vested interests do not make for good reporting.

At least with Sharpton, he’s an opinions guy.

    Not a reporter.

    End of story.

  20. Morning good people

  21. Post Time!

  22. Ok…
    We had a problem for a few…

  24. This sucker IS REAL…….

  25. ABC/Washington Post poll says now even a majority of Republicans are opposed to the American action in Afghanistan

Yet their presidential candidate Mitt Romney has criticized President Obama for setting a timetable for withdrawal

I join Romney in his criticism

We should have been out of there YEARS ago

    And certainly by now

Obamas handling of this fiasco has been a black mark against his Administration

  26. Jack….
I think Romney is mad at Obama for publizing the time table…
    That’s all…
    Check that Out…..
I believe Romney DOES NOT WANT the US/NATO forces leaving…
    SO SOON….

Romney hits Obama on Afghanistan pullout announcement
    By Jennifer Rubin
In Las Vegas yesterday, Mitt Romney had this to say about the announcement by President Obama’s secretary of defense that we’d be pulling all combat troops out of Afghanistan next year:

The President’s mistakes, some of them are calculated based on a philosophy that’s hard to understand, and some you just scratch your head and say how could you be so misguided and so naïve? Today his Secretary of Defense unleashed such a policy. His Secretary of Defense said that on a date certain, the middle of 2013, we’re going to pull out our combat troops from Afghanistan. He announced that. He announced that so the Taliban hears it, the Pakistanis hear it, the Afghan leaders hear it; why in the world do you go to the people that you’re fighting with and tell them the day that you’re pulling out your troops? It makes absolutely no sense; his naïveté is putting in jeopardy the mission of the United States of America and our commitments to freedom. He is wrong, we need new leadership in Washington….

  27. Jack….
    BELIEVE ME…..
YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ROMNEY…

  28. Uh yeh I know

    You obviously dont understand

    “irony”

I really did know about Romneys stance

I was making the point that we both opposed the timetable for different reasons

    Sheesh

  29. Back at ya Jack!

  30. I’m writing out a post on materialism and modern society right now.

  31. Today, as you all must know (as we eagerly await the Kim il-Jung Centenary) is the 151st anniversary of Fort Sumter.

Almost exactly four years later, Lee surrendered at Appomattox (April 9, 1865) and John Wilkes Booth assassinated Lincoln (April 14, 1865; the President died early the following morning).

  32. Ok SE

  33. This day in history feature?

  34. Materialism?

    You being a Republican

This ought to be a hoot!

  35. Criticism of my materialism article coming from a Border Commie like you is quite the hoot.

  36. “border” Commie?

    Ah come on dumb dumb

    Get with it l!

Like your soulmate REPUBLICAN Congressnut Allen West

Call me a member of the Communist Party!

    Card carrying no less!

How many sites are you perusing to plagiarize for that article?

  37. Wrote the essay earlier today. I’ve never read any materialism articles before, so these are my honest to God views laden with my own personal experiences. When I put my mind to it, I can write a good article. When have you written an honest to God article about ANYTHING? All I see is drivel from you.

  38. The author of several articles on why there was going to be

    A brokered Democratic convention

    Accusing another of writing

    “Drivel”

    Is quite amusing

As you have a record of plagiarism,(see your OBVIOUSLY copied “endorsement” of Santorum)

One has the right to be skeptical of anything you offer

  39. I’ii post you up later SE

  40. We’ll see guys………

  41. Again, Jack. Take a quote from the Santorum endorsement and put it in Google’s Advanced Search mechanism. You’ll be hard pressed to find ANY matches that aren’t the same article that I posted to other sites. But you won’t do that, because you’re a shill. Facts don’t matter to you or your alter ego Zreebs. You just care about “getting” me, because I’m one of the most prominent names on this site. Typical Soviet mentality you got there, eh “boy?”

  42. “I am about as excited by the Romney nomination as I am about going to the doctor for a digital rectal exam — necessary at a certain age, but awkward and uncomfortable nonetheless, with a lot of bending over and taking it whether or not you really want it.”

    Erick Erickson, 4/12/12

  43. It’s about time for a new thread!

  44. He’ll learn to live with it like we did with Bush II

  45. Yes it is….
    Darn it’s getting busy now….

  46. When good friends tease you, it’s all good. When it’s the guy the blogosphere still hasn’t rinsed itself of, it’s another story entirely.

  47. SE, One can change every sentence, and still plagiarize. The fact is when Jack and I asked you technical questions about what you wrote, you were unable to answer them. For example, what did you mean when you said that Santorum recommends a market based solution to health care? And that “endorsement” didn’t include any of your usual incoherent comments like you made comparing Jack and me to “Soviet mentality”. if you want to clarify your Soviet accusation, then go ahead.

Maybe I’m wrong on this, but wasn’t SE the person who on politics1 who used to impersonate other people? If not who was it?
